About the event
In partnership with Hotel Effie and their signature restaurant Ovide, we’ll be hosting our first-ever story-pairing dinner. Think of it like a wine dinner, but with stories sprinkled throughout each delectable course. We can’t wait to welcome the fabulous Laura Quick, Founder and CEO of Good Grit Magazine and Good Grit Agency, as our Featured Storyteller. (Stay tuned for the official theme and menu announcement coming soon!)
As a bonus, Hotel Effie will be offering an Exclusive Storyteller Rate – 20% off their Best Available Rate for stays during the entire month of February. This means you can turn the evening into your very own staycation! The best part is, this rate is available for any guests in February even if you’re not able to attend the event. (Valentine’s/Galentine’s getaway anyone?) Use the link below or plug in the code ‘Story’ for this exclusive offer!
The theme for the evening will be LIFELINES. Tell us a story about a time you or someone you know overcame or got by with a little help from a friend.
For those interested in taking the mic, we ask that you please purchase a ticket and email emeraldcoaststorytellers@gmail.com to apply for a spot. Include your name, genre, a little bit about yourself, and what you plan to present.
Tickets will be very limited and go on sale Tuesday, 1/10, at noon.
. . .
Laura Quick was born a storyteller. While she’s been weaving stories and telling tales since her earliest days of existence, her true passion lies in helping others tell their story. She’s able to do that so well thanks to her tenacious personality, wealth of knowledge, curious nature and, perhaps most importantly, her willingness to first listen to others. Laura has a warm charm and authenticity that gives everyone she meets permission to disarm and be themselves.
Before she stepped into the lead role of head storyteller at Good Grit Agency, she was an international sales and marketing manager for a large corporation. She launched Good Grit Magazine in 2014, which is still in print today as a quarterly publication, telling “Damn Good Stories” that capture the resilience of the human spirit. Good Grit is distributed primarily in the lower 12 states and has a boutique readership of 300,000.
