October story theme: Waves of Inspiration.
Much like the ebb and flow of the tide, creativity can rise and recede in unexpected ways. Whether it’s the spark that sets a story in motion or the forces that keep us moving forward, these waves of inspiration can shape our paths, crash over us with emotion, or guide us toward calmer waters.

Captain Martha LaGuardia-Kotite broke barriers as one of the first female officers to serve aboard two Coast Guard cutters with all-male crews.
